Adecco is currently managing the hiring for a local manufacturing client in their search to fill full-time Fabricator and Machine Operator jobs in Kalamazoo. This is a temporary to hire opportunity. Apply now if you meet the qualifications listed below!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Determine machine setup and material requirements by reading job specifications, project plans, and drawings to fabricate or form parts for plastic product assembly.

Operate table saws, band saws, panel saws, routers, forming machines, edge finishers, drill presses, and other fabrication machinery to cut, machine, form, and/or make components for plastic assembly according to customer specifications and project plans.

Monitor machine operations to detect defects or malfunctions and make adjustments or corrections to produce quality parts.

Arrange machine centers or processes and plan setup of fixtures and production lines to maximize efficient production of assembly operations.

Work in manufacturing operations to form, edge, and glue plastic sheet, rod, and/or tube products. Train and assist assembly workers in effective operations and to achieve efficient production according to project specifications with a minimum of scrap and wasted material.

Lead assembly teams by organizing the work area and processes to ensure efficient and accurate production and instruct the employees assigned to the team on proper work techniques.

Use calipers, tape measures, and other measuring devices to measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operations and ensure quality of finished product.

Report production line operation, quality control, and/or engineering problems to supervision to correct deviations from project standards, minimize scrap production to maximize production operations.

Train other fabrication and assembly personnel on equipment and processes to maintain continuous production of quality product and to increase the skill level of employees.

Clean immediate and surrounding work area, machines, tools, and equipment to contribute to a safe and clean working environment.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be available for 2nd shift

High school or equivalent

Minimum of two years related production or shop related experience.
