Job Description:
A company is looking for a Director of Data Science to lead and
enhance their data science functions, focusing on risk management
in a remote-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership to develop core risk decision-making
strategies and roadmaps
Build and deliver advanced models for credit underwriting and fraud
detection using various data sources
Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and analysts, fostering a
culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience, with at least 6 years in the finance or
fintech industry
A bachelor's degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, data
science, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
In-depth knowledge of credit underwriting, fraud modeling, and
portfolio management
Experience in building risk underwriting models using alternative
data sources
Proficiency in statistical modeling and tools such as Python, SQL,
and R
