Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for treating patients using standard physical therapy procedures, evaluating patients' motor and neurological capabilities, and documenting findings.Key Responsibilities:

• Treat patients using standard physical therapy procedures, including heat, cold, electricity, traction, ultrasound, and exercise.
• Evaluate patients' motor and neurological capabilities and document findings.
• Administer and interpret various tests to evaluate patients' motor and neurological capabilities.
• Document patient treatments, initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental policies and service line protocols.
• Co-sign notes written by physical therapy assistants, aides, and/or students.
• Develop home care programs for patients and provide instruction to families during hospitalization and upon discharge.
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings and various conferences to report on patients' progress; consult regularly with other service line team members regarding patient treatment.
• Oversee, instruct, and evaluate physical therapy assistants, aides, students, and/or volunteers, as assigned.
• Maintain professional expertise through workshops, lectures, conferences, departmental, and service line meetings to remain current on treatment techniques.
• Promote the values of the DMC by demonstrating behaviors supportive of a commitment to quality, community welfare, respect, and involvement, teamwork, open and effective communication, innovation, and education, and efficient and effective resource use.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or certification from an accredited physical therapy program.
